Four decades ago, Dr. Joseph Garcia made a remarkable discovery. He noticed that hearing babies, when exposed to sign language from their Deaf parents, could communicate effectively. This led him to wonder if all pre-speech babies could do the same without hindering their speech development. His research revealed that not only does signing not impair speech, but it also enhances it. Babies who sign have a language for months before they start speaking, giving them a lot to say when they do. This led to a global revolution in baby sign language, all thanks to Dr. Joseph's pioneering work.
